Topic: Key things to know about the role of other people in your life
In the world we live in, there are people who are an opportunity and others who are a hindrance to the fulfillment of God’s purpose in your life. You may live with them without knowing their position—whether they are on your side or against you. To accomplish His purpose on earth, God uses people, and often the success of His purpose depends on the obedience of those people to their calling.
The Bible says:
“And we know that in all things God works for the good of those who love him, who have been called according to his purpose.” (Romans 8:28)
“The LORD has made everything for its purpose, even the wicked for the day of trouble.” (Proverbs 16:4)
Think about it: if it weren’t for the challenges faced by the Israelites and our forefathers—Abraham, Isaac, Jacob, David, Paul, and others—they would not have known God as deeply as they did. Their trials revealed God more clearly to them and enabled them to move forward without giving up (2 Corinthians 11:24-29).
Five important things to do concerning these people:
1. Pray for God to connect you with them – You may be living among them without knowing their role. Every person God brings into your life is a new idea. The more you pray, the more God will reveal what that person carries for your life.
2. Pray that they remain and endure in their positions – Many of these people are not standing in their rightful place of responsibility. Pray that God will establish them so they remain where they are supposed to be for your success.
3. Pray for God’s protection over them – The devil knows this secret. He always sets traps and obstacles to move such people away from their positions so they fail in their responsibility toward you. Pray for God’s covering over their families, marriages, jobs, and all that concerns them.
4. Maintain good relationships with them – Good communication and relationships between you and those whom God has placed in your life are essential for your success. Pray for peace among you, for when there is peace, they are in a better position to fulfill their part in your life.
5. Recognize they exist in every area of your life – These people are present in all spheres: work, business, ministry, education, family, marriage, farming, etc. You don’t necessarily have to know them personally or by name, but through their work, teachings, ministry, upbringing, or lifestyle, God releases things meant to help you fulfill His purpose in your life.
Why should you pray for them?
- Because your success is directly connected to them, and not everyone can stand in their place for you. These people are like the parts of a body—no matter how strong your heart may be, you still need the whole body working together to achieve what you envision.
To be continued in Part Two…
“Glory and honor belong to You, Jesus; You alone are worthy, my Lord.”
Amen
